Description
Briess CBW® Bavarian Wheat DME (Dry Malt Extract) is a traditional blend of 65% wheat malt and 35% barley malt. This high-quality extract provides the classic malty, wheat-forward foundation required for Hefeweizens, Dunkelweizens, and American Wheat ales. It is highly fermentable and helps build excellent head retention and a creamy mouthfeel in the finished beer. Ideal for small-batch brewing or boosting gravity in larger batches.
Brewery Tip: When using DME for yeast starters, use 100g per 1 Liter of water. Wheat DME is particularly good for starters as the higher protein content can help support yeast health. Store any unused DME in an airtight container; it will absorb moisture from the air and harden if exposed.
